Armorsmithing
Allows you to create chain mail, plate mail, shield type armors along with the associated components.
|
Crafted Items
With armorsmithing you can create chain mails, plate mails, shields and helmets from metallic components. Chain mail armors are designed for Clerics and Chanters, whereas plate armors are for Gladiators and Templars. Armor types for other classes can be created through other crafting professions(Caster robe type armors and Ranger/Assassin armors are crafted through tailoring).
A special area of armorsmithing to pay attention to is helmets. Through armorsmithing, chain and plate helmets are able to be crafted however they can be equipped by any class(chain/plate helmets are usable even without the chain/plate armor masteries. These 2 types of helmets give such a large boost in physical defense and magic resistance, if characters of classes other than Gladiators/Templars equip chain/plate helmets, they will notice a significant increase in their defenses.
Crafted shields are far superior than the ones sold from vendors. As a tanker, it would be wise for Templars to have one crafted.
Recipes for Elyos and Asmodian armorsmithing are identical, except for the very rare items.

Rare Items
When crafting armors, you will randomly create armor prefixed with 'Shining~'. This is a rare item and is stronger than the normal armors created. These 'Shining' armors may be used as a component for advanced armorsmithing later.
Leveling Ranks
As you level your armorsmithing towards the end of the rank(beginner - 99, artisan - 199, advanced - 299, expert - 399), you must visit the trainer(Elyos - Bulcanos, Asmodian - Kinteroon) and pay a fee to level to the next rank. When you level your rank, your armorsmithing skill point will increase by 1, and you will be able to craft better metallic armor and shields.
